Friends Memories

  1. Grandma's strength in and stubborn personality was always a great asset I always looked up to her for. She wasn't ever afraid to tell her opinion and if she felt she was wronged she would sure let you know. I remember a few years ago she was telling a story around the dinner table at the beach house. She had seen a commercial for Quakers Oatmeal. It told her that if she ate the oatmeal for a month she could drop X amounts of cholesterol. She ate the Oatmeal for a month and had no change in Cholesterol. Needless to say she was on the phone with the "big wigs" by the end of that phone call and was pissed about false advertising. She sure as hell got her money back, and I am positive Quaker Oatmeal thought about their advertising after that. That was just the woman she was. If she thought she was right, SHE WAS! She wouldn't stand down to anyone and she always spoke her voice. I learned a lot form her and always admired her for that quality.
